Colour choices for a car park
Epoxy comes in a wide range of colours that can be matched to the building. These three are the ones we install most.
Grey with yellow markings
The most common choice in office buildings. Grey is the most forgiving of tyre dust, and yellow markings stay legible on top of it.
Green with yellow lanes
Used in apartments and malls. A bright colour makes a basement feel larger and separates vehicle lanes from walkways.
A different colour per zone
In a large mall car park each zone gets its own colour, so visitors can remember where they parked.
Anti slip, and where it is not optional
Beyond the finish, an epoxy coating can carry an anti slip layer that raises grip for vehicles. Two areas usually require it.
- Ramps, up and down. It cuts the risk of a vehicle slipping when the floor is wet, especially at the ramp mouth where rain is carried in from outside.
- Bends. It raises tyre grip on turning lanes, where lateral load on the tyre is highest.
Anti slip in those two areas brings the slip risk down without roughening the whole car park, which would only make cleaning harder.
